How table call buttons work
A guest presses the call button on the table, and the server's L4 watch vibrates, beeps and shows the table number and wait time. It works over radio, so there is no Wi-Fi, internet or app to set up.
Step by step
- The guest presses. The button lights up, so the guest knows the call went through.
- The watch alerts. Every L4 set for that area vibrates and beeps within the radio range of 230 to 260 ft.
- The server reads it. The screen shows the table number or area name, plus how long the guest has waited.
- The server responds. The call clears on its own after a few seconds, or the server clears it on the watch.
Several calls at once? The watch lists them one above another.
Call button vs restaurant pager or buzzer
They solve opposite problems.
- A guest pager or buzzer is a coaster you hand to the guest. The restaurant calls the guest: your table is ready, or your order is up.
- A table call button stays on the table. The guest calls the staff: a refill, the check, a question.
So the pager tells the guest when to come. The call button tells your team where to go. Guests stop waving, servers stop doing laps, and nobody waits to catch an eye.
What you need
- One button per table or area. P1 is black and R1 is red.
- One L4 watch per server on the floor. Each watch holds up to 180 buttons in 10 groups.
- A repeater only for large or split floors.
Buttons run on a 23A battery that lasts 18 to 24 months. The L4 charges by charging. The system is certified FCC and CE.
